So how is everyone doing?

Hello everyone! I hope you all have been enjoying this wonderful warm weather and that this blog finds you in great health and happy spirits.

I'll catch you all up on what's been going on. My anniversary was May 9th which was also Mother's Day weekend. Hubby planned a quick trip to reno for us which was fun. Uncle was buried on the following Monday.

My daughter - who was vaccinated with the Chicken Pox Vaccine contracted the Chicken Pox from two boys AT SCHOOL. No note was sent home either and the teacher knew about it. Five kids from my daughters class are out of school because they got the chicken pox. Grrrrr. Stupid faculty. The first pox showed up last saturday and she still has some on her. It's not a really BAD case - but they're taking a while to go away. Thank god my 15 year old son hasnt gotten the pox - he was vaccinated as well - but I guess it's worked for him.

I havent been at the computer much. Just to check mail here and there. I've been keeping myself busy with house cleaning/refreshing. I'm planning on painting my hallway and my bedroom. I'm also looking for some really good fencers for the backyard fence. I'm just really digging my feet in at home to get it the way I want it finally. I've let the computer consume a lot of my time and it's good to not feel strapped to it.

I havent made anything new - but I have a few newer items i made as freebies for NSD. The last one - Vacation - was one of those NSD freebies. This one is called Summatime. I didnt want to do the traditional bright bright summer colors so I opted for the colors that reflect "indian summer" for me. I hope you enjoy this mini-kit. I dunno why but that top blue tag turned that way reminds me of a bird LOL.

SDG Calling It A Day....

Well - I gave it my best but there are some people in the scrapping community that are just plain HORRIBLE people. Some - at one time - i've even called "friend". I dont have this much drama in my REAL life - why would I welcome it online?

Many of you know about this ugly blog online that freely allows these hateful/spiteful people to spew falsehoods and bash people freely, all the while not providing ANY proof of their claims. Their friends run to the blog to continue the madness and when you go there to defend yourself you're painted in a bad light for doing so. Incredible isnt it? They even went as far as to imply that my uncle didnt die and suggested that MzP and I should die ourselves. We all know that HALF of what they've said they wouldnt have the nerve to say in "real" life - face to face..it's just utterly tragic to me to see someone SO unhappy with themselves that they MUST bash ther people - even without proof.

These SAME people are welcomed with open arms at DST too. Yes DST - the same people who claim that their digi-scrapping community is welcoming and friendly and a family-type of community. YEAH RIGHT. On which planet?

You know when I first opened this blog - I got some crazy message asking if I was going to bash other designers. It was from a guy - I didnt know who he was - so I just ignored it. Now I see where it all was coming from. There ARE designers out there who dont want anyone else to gain notoriety for their designs. There ARE designers out there who feel digiscrappin begins and ends with THEM. There ARE jealous and hateful designers out there who WILL bash people JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN. Catty and TRAGIC women. I feel for their children.

I've ran a successful online business filled with MANY business women. I had a full community type of network for small business owners in California where my company hosted Small Business Expos all over the state. Hundreds of women were members and I NEVER in my LIFE had to deal with this sort of ignorant drama. For the whole 5 years I ran that business there was ONE altercation between two members whose personalities didnt mesh...but did they act like elementary school-children? No.

UGH.. i'm so through with this. It's a waste of time and energy. SDG will have one final extended sale and then it's closing. I refuse to have MY members labeled as "misfits, ghouls, bullies and bitches". SDG Members are a group of wonderful people and i'm glad that I had the opportunity to meet them.

Some people might say " by shutting down your store you're letting them win"...which isnt true at all. I'M the winner - because I STILL get to do my craft and not have to deal with any of their toxic garbage. They cant attack my friends because they're not listed all in once place to be attacked. They didnt like the competition LOL.

MzP listed on her blog some of what went on and the names of those who are responsible for the unnecessary drama - click on "Pimp My Scrapbook" to the left of this blog to get to it.

This blog opened on January 13th of 2008 and has had over 17,000 visitors - so as far as their claims about me being "talentless" and producing "garbage"... I say HAH. Stats dont lie. This blog will remain open and i'll keep posting freebs when i make them. I may even sell a kit or two from here....but SDG will be closing.

Well everyone here it is Monday (Happy Cindo De Mayo Everyone!) and I decided to post a freebie. I dunno about you all - but - I cant wait for summer. Vacation Vacation Vacation!!

I hope you all enjoyed NSD over at Scrappin Dead Girls. We had a lot of fun. Saturday I spent back and forth at the puter... mostly away. My daughters bday party was on Saturday as well. It was a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG day. But the awesome part? One of the little girls that came to the party - we found out - that her mom and I went to the same high school together!! Isnt that awesome?! So I got to reconnect with an old friend who's still in touch with a lot of mutual friends from high school. I'm SO excited about that! She told me every year around the holidays they all get together.. so i'm really looking forward to that.

Uncles funeral was scheduled for this coming sunday.. yes - mothers day. I dont know what my aunt was thinking but the wake is sunday and the burial is monday. I wont be able to attend teh wake because friday is also my wedding anniversary and hubby made plans for us that weekend. The family is a bit at odds right now because of the days auntie picked - unfortunately a lot of family members wont be able to go to the wake...especially my pop. He's a Mariachi and was booked heavily for Mother's Day. It's a sad situation - but i'm praying for the best. Above all there's a lot of love there...so I know in the end things will resolve themselves.

My Uncle...

Yesterday around 3:00 pm my uncle passed away peacefully in his sleep. My husband, children and I got to say goodbye to uncle the night before and were able to let him know how much he was admired, loved and will be missed.

I want to personally thank those of you who sent me so many caring and thoughtful messages directly. You're all greatly appreciated.

What's Been Going On?...

Hello everyone - sorry I haven't been around much this week. I received some very bad news about my uncle having 3 days to one week to live and then I was spanked with the worst cold ever. My head feels like a clogged block. Uncle is getting weaker and weaker as each day goes by and it's very sad. But at least we get to say goodbye - which, I view, is a gift.



Please please please - at all cost - avoid this cold. It's a nasty lil bastard. It doesnt let you sleep and makes your ears plug and ya feel all clammy ....it's just horrible. So i've been napping on and off all day today.
